To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11 landing on the moon, please enjoy the pics from a trip I took to the KSC in 1998. For the record, these were taken with Kodak !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . I later scanned the pictures, correcting what I could.

Neat. I visited the space center in Alabama something like 40 years ago ( wait, that’s only 10 years after Apollo 11...... ) but I’d love to go to KSC.

I'd like to go back someday, take my nephews and cousin's boys with me, see all the changes they've made since '98.

I’ve seen that shuttle:
As bitter as Houston was about not getting a real shuttle, it was pretty cool to be able to go inside. The crew are was way smaller than what I had pictured (though still luxurious compared to Apollo, pooping in a small enclosed space with two other men seems suboptimal...)

Is it wrong that I’m mostly surprised that the b icentennial star was still up into the 90s? I mean, I can see why changing it wasn’t on anyone’s priority list but c’mon

I passed through the Armstrong museum this weekend to see what all the bouncy castles were about. Not the biggest, grandest museum but a fun distraction after driving halfway through ohio

I'm not from Houston, but I think it's bullshit. WTF does NYC have to do with the space program? Was it as much as Houston? I doubt it. Let them have the fake.

New York is the nation’s largest city, and in the center of America’s most densely populated region. Obama reportedly wanted to get the shuttles to places where people could see them, regardless of whether they had a connection to the space program. That makes a certain degree of sense, though the fact the Intrepid’s plan (“ we’ll put it in a tennis bubble, and maybe we’ll build a building for it some day” ) was so terrible seems like a good enough reason to skip New York and go for a place like Chicago, Seattle, Houston, or even Dayton where it would be looked after properly.
